In the year 2000 BC, an Indo-European, sun-worshipping tribe called the Aryans invaded and settled from central Asia to as far as northern India. After 2000 BC there was a large influx of Aryans that moved into Afghanistan who later set up a nation that was called Aryana, meaning “Land of the Aryans”. Aryana later became a part of the Persian empire in the 6th century and Alexander the Great occupied the region in 330 BC. The organization’s first projects will be focused in the northeastern province of Afghanistan known as Nuristan, formerly known as Kafiristan. For this reason we have chosen to incorporate this title in the name of the organization.
The Book project:
One of the goals of Ariana Outreach is to promote literacy. Afghan writers and non-Afghans who are involved in the development process of Afghanistan have come together from around the world to unite in a common cause. Not only is this project a means for the Afghan voice to be heard but it is also motivating the populace to work towards the development of Afghanistan . This project will enable non-Afghans in the West to learn and understand the Afghan people. As the United States and Afghanistan is a partner in Peace the book will enable the two countries to build bridges towards friendship and enhance communication.
